My introduction to the insurance world began years ago with our oldest daughter. Little did I know then that the knowledge I was gaining at the time would lead me to a career in health insurance.
In early 2006 we discovered that God had made our daughter Hannah with unique challenges. Doctors discovered prenatally that for her to live outside the womb, she was going to require multiple surgeries, possibly a heart transplant. Two days after she was born, Hannah had her first of two open heart surgeries. Even if we were multimillionaires, these surgeries would have been financially challenging. However, on our small college ministry salary, it would have been catastrophic. We learned quickly what good health insurance was designed to do and how much money we saved for a procedure we would never have been able to afford. Over the next several years we discovered what health insurance was good at doing and where it was weak.
The 4 very special years God gave us with Hannah were formative in the way I view every insurance product, but especially health insurance. My prayer is that every client I have the privilege of serving would save both time and money on products that they need.
